‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers suggest Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) doesn’t expect that Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) will be the one to lose her life during this risky surgical procedure in which Sam is donating part of her liver to Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havens).
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sam Helped Dante Through His PTSD
Sam has been so busy downplaying her role in saving Lulu’s life that she doesn’t seem to grasp that she’s a hero. She’s about to give her life for Lulu, and sadly, that means she will leave Dante, her children, and the blended family they’ve formed behind.
Since Lulu’s been in a coma, Dante has relied heavily on Sam’s presence to keep him grounded and sane. When Sam and Dante first got together, Dante was pretty much a mess. A WSB assignment had left Dante brainwashed and suffering from PTSD.
But Sam came along and helped him through it. Sam had arrived at the cemetery after Dante lured Peter August (Wes Ramey) there to shoot him. Sam arrived just in time to stop Dante from pulling the trigger.
She got Dante to open up to her, and he talked to her about feeling brainwashed and triggered. Sam got Dante some help. He went to speak with Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom), who deprogramed Dante. From then on, Dante trusted Sam, and they grew closer from the experience.
The two of them developed a serious relationship. Dante moved in with Sam at her place, and they became a blended family with Rocco Falconeri (Finn Francis Carr), Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn), and Scout Quartermaine (Cosette Abinate).
As of this writing, Sam’s death hasn’t played out on-screen, but we think we may have seen her say goodbye to her loved ones today. Sam was being wheeled into surgery and said goodbye to everyone before Lucas Jones (Van Hasis) operated on her.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Dante Won’t Be Able To Fully Experience The Joy Of Lulu’s Awakening
It’s not hard to imagine that Sam’s death will crush Dante. He may need to hide his grief over Sam as Lulu wakes up.
Lulu may wake up feeling the same as she did right before she fell unconscious. In Lulu’s mind, no time has passed. Meanwhile, Dante could be headed toward a downward spiral as he tries to deal with Sam’s death.
He’ll be devastated that Sam is gone. Although he will feel the joy of Lulu waking up, he won’t be able to experience it fully.
There may also be a part of him that blames himself for Sam’s death, especially if the story takes the dark turn that’s being hinted at.
Rumors are swirling that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) will murder Sam after the surgery by giving her a fatal dose of digitalis. He may overhear a conversation between Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson), talking about what Lulu told Maxie before he fell into a coma.
Cyrus may see killing Sam as his way to make amends to Lulu after the bomb explosion, thinking he’s giving Lulu another chance with Dante. The idea is twisted and disturbing; hopefully, the show won’t go there. But we do know, unfortunately, that Sam won’t make it out of the hospital alive.
