Dean Geyer has joined GH in the role of Tristian Rogers, a tribute to the late Tristian Rogers‘ iconic character, Robert Scorpio.

Geyer Was Spotted at the Celebration for the Filming of GH’s 16,000th Episode
In August 2025, Robert Scorpio’s portrayer, Tristian Rogers, passed away after a battle with lung cancer. His death was tragic. Rogers was a soap legend and very beloved by his GH castmates, his family, and friends.
Now, Tristian is being honored with a new role as Tristian Roberts, as confirmed by TV Insider. Geyer is best known for his role as Brody Weston on Glee.
Interestingly, GH isn’t his first soap opera gig; he played a struggling musician named Ty Harper on the popular Australian soap Neighbors.
Geyer was born in South Africa and apparently has an authentic Australian accent. The actor’s new character was affectionately named after Tristan Rogers and Robert Scorpio, whom Tristan Rogers played on and off since December 1980.
Geyer was also spotted in the social media video that was released to celebrate the filming of GH’s 16,000th episode. His role will also be a contract role, which means he’ll become a major player in Port Charles.
Geyer is also a singer/songwriter and competed in Australian Idol. The 16,000th episode of GH will air on July 13th, when Geyer is slated to first appear.
The new GH castmate was seen among the other actors in a group photo posted on Instagram.
It’s possible that Geyer could be introduced as another super spy or someone connected to that world, but we don’t have enough details yet.
Tristian Roberts’s Final Scene on GH Was in July 2025
Robert Scorpio first arrived in Port Charles as a super-spy. He was initially brought on the show as an antagonist, but his role evolved into an international secret agent who fought global crime organizations.
In other words, Robert Scorpio was a true hero in Port Charles. Of course, he was also one half of a super couple, Robert and Holly Sutton (Emma Samms).
Their storylines often intertwined with fellow super spy, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes). Robert and Anna shared a daughter, Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCollough).
It was also later confirmed that Robert was also the father of Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson), a daughter he shared with Holly Sutton.
Tristan’s final scene on GH, in July 2025, was very moving. It included Robert welcoming Sasha and her daughter, Daisy, at his and Holly’s home in Paris.
GH hasn’t yet scripted Robert Scorpio’s death, but we suspect it will come soon. No word yet on whether GH plans to coincide Tristian Robert’s debut with the death of Robert Scorpio.
Tristian Rogers and Robert Scorpio were both beloved to the soap, so creating a new character in their honor is a very clever way to pay tribute to Tristian Rogers.
There has also been some speculation that Robert may die the way he lived, as a hero, saving Anna from the trouble she’s in, or he could be killed trying to help her escape.
So, we can’t wait to see what Dean Geyer has in store for Port Charles and how his role will pay homage to Tristan Roberts and the unforgettable Robert Scorpio.
