‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal that we dread Sam McCall‘s (Kelly Monaco) death for a million reasons. Not only is this a character who’s been in the long-time viewers’ lives for 21 years, but we also have an idea that Sam’s death will be much more brutal on certain characters.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: No One Will Take Sam’s Death Harder Than Alexis
Sam’s death may further drive a wedge between Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) and Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos). The Davis girls have been at odds since the death of baby Adela/Irene.
Molly will inevitably unjustly blame Kristina for something, and Kristina might make Sam’s death all about her. With the sisters likely not reconciling anytime soon, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) will lack the support she would typically get from the least selfish sister, Sam, who will be gone.
Alexis could easily return to the bottle for comfort when Sam passes away. No one will take Sam’s death harder than Alexis.
It’s against the law of nature for a child to die before their parents, and Alexis will have difficulty saying goodbye to her oldest daughter. The same daughter saw her through some of her darkest moments and held her hand when she needed to feel a loving touch.
Even with the death of her granddaughter and after almost losing Kristina, Alexis has kept her sobriety in check. She’s been faithful in attending her AA meetings and has managed to keep up her strength.
But Sam’s death will send Alexis reeling and put her in a place mentally that she’ll struggle to come out of. For Alexis, her fall from grace always seems to involve poor decision-making and lasting damage.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Kristina And Molly Will Need To Help Their Mother
We remember when a drunken Alexis stabbed Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) with a syringe containing a near-fatal dose of lidocaine at the hospital because she thought Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) was going to hurt Sam.
Although she was aiming for Franco, she accidentally injected Dante with the syringe instead. Dante almost died because of her foolish actions.
Alexis’s mama bear protective instincts got her into a hot legal mess because she loved Sam that much. Not to mention, she was completely wasted. Alexis was charged with aggravated assault and attempted murder. Her entire life imploded.
If Alexis does fall off the wagon, can Kristina and Molly put aside their differences and help her? Can they stop the fighting and bickering long enough to intervene and put Alexis in rehab?
Even though right now, Alexis thinks the Davis family has had as much pain as they could bear, it’s about to get even worse for them. Kristina and Molly may want to try to repair their relationship, but with Sam not around, is that possible?
Not unless they remember the last time they saw Sam. She gave them a good talking to because they insisted she take sides, and when she refused, they acted like children.
If Kristina and Molly allow Sam to be their example of a strong, selfless woman, they can help Alexis. It’s what Sam would want them to do, as Sam’s last wish for her sisters was to mend fences somehow.
