The new season of sMothered is upon us and there are plenty of new couples coming onto the show. One of the most highly anticipated mother-daughter duos is Shay and Angie. Why are viewers excited to see them? This is the first mother and trans daughter duo to even join the show and this is making TLC history.
sMothered: Their Story
We have seen a lot of crazy duos on the show and we have seen just how close they get. Some of their bonds are borderline bizarre and some are just creepy. These two got even closer when Shay came out to her mother as transgender. Angie has tried really hard to become even closer to her daughter and it has really started to put a strain on their relationship.

Angie is also trying to get Shay to lose more weight and push her hard. This is causing a lot of friction and tension and Shay is concerned that her mother thinks that she is her new project.

Now, supportive mama, Angie is fully invested in Shay’s journey to womanhood. However, Angie isn’t afraid to stick her nose in Shay’spersonal business and when Shay dedicates herself to a transformational weight loss plan, Angie takes control. Will Shay thrive and achieve her new goals or will Angie’s involvement prove to be too much?”
TLC has really started to branch out when it comes to adding those in the LGBTQIA+ community and ther viewers are starting to notice. They are happy to see that one of the main duos on the show features a trans woman. This is going to be a great season and we are ready to see how the relationship between Angie and Shay plays out.
There are plenty of new couples coming to this season of the show and viewers are ready to see their crazy and creepy stories. These mothers have quite the hold on their daughters, but they don’t seem to mind at all. We will see other relationships that they have fall because of just how close they are with their mothers.
