According to an anoymous source, the story behind Brian Laundrie’s suicide is that when he learned that his Mother could be charged with aiding and abetting a criminal after him confessed to his parents that he killed fiance Gabby Petito and drove her van home after leaving her in a National Park.
Now that Petito’s parents are suing the Laundries an anonymous source has come forward saying that the reason why Brian Laundrie committed suicide was to save his Mother from getting arrested.
Did Brian Laundrie commit suicide to save his parents?
Apparently they had been in contact with family attorney Steven Bertolino from Sept 2nd onward and on Sept. 13th, 2021 they were informed that Robert Laundrie could very well be arrested as aiding and abetting her son in his evasion of the law.
Brian was going to turn himself in but did not want his Mom to be arrested in connection with his crime, so on Sept. 13th he told them that he needed to go and “clear his head”, Dad Chris Laundrie tried to stop him but to no avail, Brian went to the National Park on Sept. 13th where he eventually ended up committing suicide.
The source is trying to paint the Laundries in a sympathetic light, saying that the Petito family is just trying to publicly shame the Laundries even though they know that they’re going through the loss of their son… it’s almost as if the source forgets that the Petito’s lost a daughter, and in essence, Brian started this whole thing.
Could the Laundries be nailed on charges according to Florida law? There are two charges that come up under Florida law that might have them shaking in their boots. For one, the potential harboring a criminal charge, also, there is a potential assisting self-murder charge that they could be facing as well.
So far, it’s just Roberta Laundrie who has been named as a potential defendant and not Chris Laundrie. We don’t know what exact role he had to play aside from trying to stop Brian from leaving at this point. However, it was said that both parents were actively trying to help their son leave the country after Gabby’s murder.
It also said that when Brian returned home instead of contacting the Petito’s to let them know what had happened to their daughter, Roberta Laundrie took son Brian to an AT&T store to get a new phone. What happened to the phone Brian was using on the trip with Gabby? What happened to Gabby’s phone and laptop for that matter? Did the Laundries help Brian get rid of evidence? That could be yet another potential charge tacked on.
Steven Bertolino says that the lawsuit is “baseless”, but no one’s buying that. If what the source is saying is true, then we’re getting a much clearer picture of what was going through the Laundrie’s heads after the death of Gabby Petito. Brian had a plan to turn himself in, until the lawyer told them that Brian would not be the only one potentially facing charges.
On Sept. 13th when Brian was “grieving” according to Steven Bertolino he was probably not only grieving for Gabby but potentially over something that hadn’t happened to his Mom yet and that is why he decided to take off and do himself in. This does not make Brian or the Laundrie family sympathetic characters in this case, this simply explains their actions going forward.
This also explains why the parents seemed a bit detached when they were the ones that located Brian’s remains. If what the source is saying is true, then they already knew what they would find. Roberta had already done all of her own grieving privately, which would totally explain that one, single, crystalline tear she had at the scene.
It would also explain why Chris Laundrie knew just the location in order to look for his son, there is footage of Chris finding the remains and he knew exactly where he was going. Also, they were the ones that found the drybag with the notebook and everything in it. The question is though, if this is all a cover-up, what sort of power do the Laundries have over law enforcement? Food for thought. Stay tuned!!!
