Gabby Petito’s family files civil lawsuit against family of Brian Laundrie

On Wenesday, March 9th, civil court documents were filed by Joseph Petito and Nicole Schmidt, parents of Gabby Petito, against Chris and Roberta Laundrie, alleging that they knew about Gabby’s murder and were actively working to help their own son Brian Laundrie leave the country.

The reports include several allegations that were not included in the FBI report. They are now saying that Brian Laundrie informed his parents of Gabby’s murder on or about August 28th, 2021, and that the Laundries sent their own attorney, Steve Bertolino, a retainer fee on Sept. 2nd, 2021.

The lawsuit alleges that Laundrie sent text messages back and forth between his phone and Gabby’s, trying to cover up the fact that she was already dead.

The lawsuit also alleges that Laundrie was the one who sent the text message from Gabby’s phone calling her Grandfather by his first name, “Stan” and asking her Mother, Nicole Schmidt, to go help him, there was also the text sent on August 30th from Gabby’s phone saying that there was no service in Yosemite, even though they were not supposed to be anywhere near Yosemite during that time.

During that time, the Petitos were trying to get in contact with the Laundries because they were concerned for their daughters’ safety… and the Laundries refused to pick up the phone.

The lawsuit goes on to allege that Chris and Roberta Laundrie were making arrangements for their son Brian Laundrie to leave the country during this time and even mentioned their family vacation down at the nature reserve after his Sept.

1st return to Florida in Gabby’s van by himself, they accuse the Laundries of acting with malice or great indifference to the rights of the Petito family which goes beyond the bounds of all human decency and… we agree. The Petito family is seeking damages in the amount of $100,000, which is just… a drop in the bucket compared to what they should be asking for.

The allegations make sense, they make perfect sense, also, Gabby’s family saw the note in which Brian claimed responsibility for Gabby’s death. No details of said note have been released yet, but it can only be speculated as to what he actually said – maybe these allegations were part of it, who knows?

The allegations can’t have come out of thin air, and can’t have all come from conspiracy theories, since the Laundries knew of Gabby’s death, obviously they were going to try and help their son evade justice. But when did they stop having common human empathy for the Petito’s?

Did they hate Gabby so much that they just thought she deserved whatever Brian gave her? It’s truly disturbing to think about, where their headspace was when this occurred. Our hearts go out to the Petito’s, we hope that they find justice. Stay tuned!!!
