‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that Susan Walters (Diane Jenkins) doesn’t feel like it’s been that long since she was on the show. The 58-year-old actress discussed her returning to the role of Diane Jenkins on a recent episode of ‘Dishing with Digest’ podcast with Stephanie Sloane and Mara Levinksy.

Before returning this year, Walters played the character from 2001-2004 and has returned after her character faked her own death.

“It just felt like we had just done this, you know, it didn’t feel like 20 years have passed,” she said.

After leaving the show, she went on to a primetime role in ‘Vampire Diaries’ as Carol Lockwood, among other series. However, she has found her way back after two decades and doesn’t feel like she missed a beat. This may be thanks to her husband, Linden Ashby, who would help her run lines at night.

“As far as my job on The Young and the Restless, he should be getting three quarters because he would run lines with me every night. You know he’s been amazing,” she said.

It doesn’t feel like she’s been gone that long as she perfectly slid back in and is already creating chaos with the best of them! Her arch-nemesis Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) now knows she’s alive and back and while it seems like she just wants to reconnect with her son, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), Phyllis will stay on her toes!

It will be interesting to see Diane reunite with Kyle after all of these years, and with Mealor returning to the show, we’ll actually get to see this happen. Will Kyle reject or accept his mother back?
