‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) has returned to the life of Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) for a reason that we may not have guessed. We thought that she may be trying to work her way back in to finish some ‘unfinished’ business, however as it turns out, she’s actually on an apology tour.

After texting Jack to come back to the house so they could talk, she revealed that she went through all of this (reconnecting Jack with his granddaughter) to try to make his life better and make amends for the way she acted in the past. However, the way she acted before may not be forgivable.

At least, I don’t think many of us would be forgiving of Diane, but that’s where Jack comes into play. He did return to the house to speak to her, and while he’s angry and upset now, we think there might be a possibility that he’ll forgive her and welcome her back into his life, if not for him so that she can reconnect with her son.

We got to watch some cool flashbacks to when Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) was born, and as a small child and interacting with her for whatever time he could. It was a nice side of Diane that was rarely seen, and now after being gone for 20 years and getting counseling, she wants to try to make things better.

Yes, this is insane and doesn’t seem like it should amount to anything, but I think Jack cares too much for Kyle and would want him to reconnect with his mother after thinking she’s been dead this entire time. If not for him, Jack will accept her apology so that his son can have the chance to be with his mother.
