Back in 2020, two little boys, Orrin and Orson West, three and four years old, went missing a few days before Christmas. According to their adoptive Father, Trezell West, he said that they had been playing outside on the back porch while he chopped firewood in the back yard, they were playing with chalk.
He said that he was going in and out of the back wooden gate to get firewood and that he went inside the house for about 10 minutes but when he came back outside the two little boys were gone.

He told his wife, who was present at the time and they started searching but to no avail, Trezel even went driving around the neighborhood in his van until it started to get dark, but no sign of the boys. That’s when Trezell called 911.
While they waited on the cops, as any Dad would, Trezell went and knocked on neighbors’ doors and asked if they had seen the boys but of course none of the neighbors had. The second that police showed up, they told the parents to stop and let them handle it, that they had the best team looking for their boys, even a helicopter searched for the boys for five miles, which sounds excessive for toddlers but one has to remember that the West’s entire back yard is a vast desert space, things happen in the desert.
However, there were no footprints, no dropped toys, no word on if they ever even found the chalk the little ones were allegedly playing with but we’re willing to bet not, that was when authorities began to realize that these children did not make it out of the house on foot, that they had had some help, obviously. (Toddlers are not going to get that far on their own.)
A K9 Unit was even sent out to search for the boys at one point, and did find their scents in the house, but could not find any evidence of their scents ever leaving the house on foot, Until earlier in the week, nothing more was known about the boy’s disappearance, until mid-week when both Trezell and Jacqueline West, were arrested for murder along with “willful cruelty to a child” an accusation that we’re not entirely sure the definition of yet, but the couple had two biological kids and two other adopted children, so they had six children in their young 30’s.
After the warrant went out for their arrest they actually tried to escape in an RV but someone posted a picture of their getaway vehicle on a Facebook group saying that they were at a place called the Edison’s Mini Market when they overheard someone at the post office say that they had to let a customer in who had news reporters following them about their adopting kids coming up missing and the user said the first thing they thought of was the West boys, so they sat in the parking lot and waited on Trezell to come out and drove behind the Wests, followed them to the freeway and got a picture of what they were driving and posted it to social media. It wasn’t long after that that the Wests were arrested.
What evidence does the police have to accuse the West’s of murder? Whatever they have, they have not released it to the public yet, but they did say that they have enough evidence to arrest them without a body. The West has not been convicted yet, but in the press conference, they said that they had evidence to prove that the West boys were actually missing for 3 months before they were reported missing, which means that they been MIA since September of 2020.
The saddest thing is, the biological family was involved in the search, they thought by trusting CPS authorities that their little ones would be in a safe place… and they were wrong. Our hearts go out to the biological family, we at DSD will be keeping an eye on this case. Stay tuned!!!
