It’s unclear whether Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) has had her life-sustaining Huntington’s medication since Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) destroyed the vials of medicine.
Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo) had stolen them from Wyndemere for her before Cullum killed him for helping her.
Britt Was Told She Had 18 Months to 15 Years to Live
However, Britt’s brother, Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevy), had mentioned something to Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) about it around a month ago, but we haven’t seen Britt take her medicine for a while.
That said, we also haven’t seen Britt exhibit many symptoms of Huntington’s disease other than the occasional hand tremor, but even those hardly ever happen these days.
When Britt was first diagnosed with Huntington’s, we saw her experience some hand tremors, and she also had difficulty swallowing.
The doctor who tested Britt also told her that she had about 18 months to 15 years to live, which is a pretty inconclusive time span.
Then, about six months after she was given the diagnosis, her Huntington’s had progressed considerably, and she was said to be in stage 3 of the illness.
At some point during this time, Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) told Britt that he somehow knew she had Huntington’s.
Britt had planned to leave town on New Year’s Eve 2022, after her birthday party. She was supposedly killed saving Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) from “the hook.”
Three years later, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) saw Britt boarding an airplane to Croatia, where she was working at the Five Poppies resort.
Britt has been working diligently on Faison’s cold fusion project. Apparently, she was supplied her medication from “C,” who we’re assuming was either Cassius or Cullum.
Some of the story makes sense, while other aspects don’t. We have to wonder whether Britt was lied to about having Huntington’s in order to keep her under control.
How Long Can Britt Go Without Her Huntington’s Medication?
That way, Cullum and Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) would have leverage over Britt, forcing her to work on Faison’s final project.
The fact that we barely ever see any evidence of her symptoms is sketchy. Apparently, Sidwell doesn’t have access to her medicine; only Cullum does.
It’s highly possible that Britt hasn’t had a single dose since the incident on the pier with Cullum. Additionally, Cullum has also threatened to withhold her medicine until she uncovers his true shooter.
Well, we know that Britt would die before she would give up Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) to Cullum. So, how is she not showing signs of Huntington’s?
This miracle drug Britt injects herself with doesn’t prevent the illness, but it keeps it in remission. However, it’s all a bit convoluted since, in reality, there is no medication that puts Huntington’s in remission.
We don’t know how long it would take for Britt to exhibit those signs. We also have no idea how long Cullum will let her go without her medicine. Does he even plan to allow her access again, since he was set to kill her anyway?
Since GH wanted Britt to return after she was supposedly killed off, they had to come up with an explanation for why Britt wasn’t at the point of needing constant care or even dead.
We love Britt and want her to stay, so we hope that she was actually lied to about her Huntington’s. We can definitely see Cullum or Sidwell doing that to her.
