‘General Hospital’ spoilers suggest that Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) may have been misdiagnosed with Huntington’s disease.
Britt was fortunate enough to have Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) by her side when she received the life-changing news that she had the marker for Huntington’s.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Was Britt Duped Into Believing She’s Sick?
It was an emotional moment for them as they formed a bond. Jason offered her some comfort and a sounding board as she relayed her fears to him.
It’s also part of the reason Britt had planned to leave Port Charles back in January 2023. She wanted to spare her loved ones from having to watch her meet a grim fate.
Britt was also giving herself bedtime injections of some mystery drug when she was in Croatia. We suspect the medication was meant to slow down the progression of Huntington’s.
However, we’re wondering if she may have been misdiagnosed altogether. When she was at GH and Dr. Lucas Jones (Van Hasis) examined her, he noticed that Britt wasn’t presenting with any symptoms of Huntington’s.
Many fans are also wondering if maybe someone manipulated the test or perhaps she was deceived altogether. Yet, Britt seems to believe she’s living on borrowed time.
She asked Lucas to check her medical records to verify her diagnosis. Either the plot will lead to this miracle drug keeping her in remission, or she doesn’t have Huntington’s at all.
In reality, remission for Huntington’s doesn’t exist. The disease has no cure. Viewers are expected to suspend their disbelief about medical facts.
Britt’s insistence that she has Huntington’s, coupled with Lucas’s reaction to her lack of symptoms, has us wondering if maybe there is more to the story.
Plus, Britt’s parents, Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) and Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati), both have enemies who could have tampered with Britt’s tests.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Did Cesar Faison Or A Cassadine Orchestrate A Fake Huntington’s Diagnosis?
Britt is fully functional now, but when the issue of Huntington’s was first addressed, she was having hand tremors. It’s entirely possible for GH to rewrite the story so that Britt was misdiagnosed.
Perhaps she was poisoned, which triggered some symptoms that mimicked Hutington’s. We also have questions regarding what the “C” stands for in that mysterious note Britt received.
Was the note from Britt’s father, Cesar? Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) has expressed her suspicions that Cesar is still alive. Or maybe “C” stands for Cassadine.
Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaghnessy) or even Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) may have been responsible for faking Britt’s diagnosis.
Despite the fact that Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) said that Victor’s brain is in a jar, it’s not as if GH is shy about bringing back the dead, especially lately.
On the other hand, for all we know, the WSB could have been involved and may have orchestrated a fake diagnosis to maintain control of her.
Cesar’s children, Britt and now Nathan West (Ryan Peavy), are both very much alive, so it’s possible he’s hiding out somewhere, calling the shots.
The medicine she was injecting herself with every night may have been merely a placebo that was creating the illusion of illness.
Regardless, fans are starting to wonder whether Britt was ever even sick. She could be walking around, living in fear for nothing.
