‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal that Ava Jerome (Maura West) doesn’t know when to quit. She knew that Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard) bipolar medication was tampered with after contacting the lab where she had his pills tested.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Ava Convinced Sonny’s Pharmacist To Give Him Placebos
Ava discovered months ago that Sonny was only receiving a quarter dose of his medicine. Then, she visited Sonny’s pharmacist to confirm her suspicions that he was involved, but she kept the information to herself.
Ava put this tidbit in her back pocket to break the emergency glass and use it when she felt she would benefit from it.
That time is now. Ava arranged for Sonny to receive total placebos. She threatened the pharmacist and strongarmed him into cooperating with her.
Of course, the audience is aware that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) is the one who originally ordered the good doctor to prescribe Sonny a meager dose of his meds.
But that by no means excuses what Ava has done. She’s setting Sonny up for him to blow a gasket when her lawyer, Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner), questions him in court.
Sonny and Ava are in the midst of a custody battle for their daughter, Avery Jerome-Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola), and it’s bound to get nasty on both sides.
That being said, Ava will no doubt not only play dirty, but she could even murder Sonny’s enemy, John “Jagger” Cates, and frame Sonny for the crime.
Sonny was livid when he heard how John had been using Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), Sonny’s baby mama, as leverage so that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) would work as an FBI informant.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Agent Cates Better Watch His Back
It’s become quite clear that the real reason Agent Cates came to Port Charles was not to expose Pikeman but to destroy Sonny because a hundred and ten years ago, he got John’s high school sweetheart, Karen Wexler (Cari Shayne), to strip at his club, and hooked on drugs.
But Sonny was a different person back then. He’s now known as “the mobster with a heart of gold.” Sonny helped John’s brother, Stone Cates (Michael Sutton), when he was dying of AIDS.
He paid for his medical care and held his hand until the day he died. Meanwhile, John couldn’t even bother to show up.
It’s entirely possible that in the heat of the moment, Sonny may threaten John’s life in front of Ava. Seeing it gives her the idea to kill John and set Sonny up to take the fall.
There appears to be a growing attraction for both parties. However, when it comes to scheming, Ava is a seasoned pro. She won’t let a little thing like mutual lust get in the way of her ultimate goal. She wants to end Sonny before he has the chance to take Avery from her.
And despite John helping her, if John is more beneficial to Ava as a dead man, so be it. She killed Connie Falconeri (Kelly Sullivan) in cold blood.
She could easily kill Agent Cates. Ava thought she hit paydirt when John considered testifying on her behalf. But framing Sonny would guarantee her that Ava got to keep her daughter.
