‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers make clear that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) knows that John “Jagger” Cates wants to build a case against him.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: John Wants To Put Sonny Behind Bars
Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) recently told Sonny that his nemesis is after him and wants to put him behind bars. Sonny is off his meds, courtesy of Ava Jerome (Maura West), and there’s no telling what will happen when Sonny spirals out of control.
Sonny could easily arrange for Agent Cates to suddenly “disappear.” He may even be the one to bring him to the Pine Barrens and take him out himself. After all, Sonny almost killed Dex Heller (Evan Hofer), but thankfully, Carly stopped him.
Another issue is that Jagger forced Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) to be an informant for the FBI. We all know that Jason has been protecting Carly.
Once Sonny finds out about Jason and Cates’s deal, will we be saying sayonara to Agent Cates? Not to mention, Cates isn’t willing to let Jason go free. He wants Jason’s help to take down Sonny.
John has also aligned himself with Ava. Sonny and Ava are in the midst of a nasty custody case, and Sonny wants to ensure that he gets custody of Avery Jerome-Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) and that he doesn’t get sent to prison.
Cates hopes to obtain evidence from Ava that will be enough to put Sonny away for good. The situation is very dangerous for John, as Sonny is an unmedicated bipolar gangster.
Sonny used to have Jason take out his enemies, but Jason may want to go legit, considering he has two young sons who need him. He may not be as willing to do Sonny’s dirty work as he once was.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sonny Isn’t Thinking Clearly
The mob boss could do anything he wanted. He could plant a bomb in Cates’s car, have his men beat the living daylights out of him, or he could simply beat John himself as he did to Dex at Brook Lynn Quartermaine‘s (Amanda Setton) and Harrison Chase‘s (Josh Swickard) wedding party.
Once those placebos DON’T kick in, he may get sloppy and start making foolish decisions. He could even corner Cates somewhere and kill him.
A dead FBI agent with no moral code is still a dead FBI agent. Cates may have abused his power, but there are those who want Sonny to pay for his mistakes. To name two, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Laura Collins (Genie Francis).
Dex is also a cop now, and if he discovers Sonny killed Cates, he’ll put him in cuffs. Sonny is not one to make idle threats, and he told Carly yesterday that perhaps Cates needs a lesson beaten into him.
Now that Cates has arrested the mother of his child, Sonny is livid. He could easily kill John with his own bare hands. Sonny doesn’t ever have legal consequences for his actions, but if he’s not careful, it may come to that.
It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that Sonny has plans for John that could land him in jail. It wouldn’t be wise of Sonny to commit a heinous crime while he is in a custody battle with Ava.
Hopefully, Sonny will find out that Ava switched his medicine, and he gets back on it for no reason other than to save himself.
