‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers confirm that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is in the dark about his bipolar medicine being messed with.
However, he came close to killing Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) when he beat the daylights out of him at the end of Brook Lynn Quartermaine‘s (Amanda Setton) and Harrison Chase‘s (Josh Swickard) wedding reception.
He lost all control in front of his daughter, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi), and after nearly whooping Dex to a bloody pulp, he threatened to kill Dex and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Ava Blackmailed Sonny’s Pharmacist Into Giving Him Placebos
Ava Jerome (Maura West) has known for months that Sonny’s prescription is incorrect. She had his pills tested, and she was aware that he was only on a quarter dose of his medicine.
She didn’t bother to find out who was behind the switch or even inform Sonny. But Ava did visit Sonny’s pharmacist, claiming to be his wife, and probed him with all kinds of questions.
Ava wanted to let the good doctor know without telling him she knew what he was doing, but again, she chose to keep it a secret from Sonny.
The martini-swilling minx never plays her hand too quickly. She’s been holding her cards for just the right moment, and it looks like that moment has arrived.
Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) told Ava that the only real chance she had of winning a custody battle against the mafia boss was if he either killed someone or had a public breakdown.
Ava took note of this handy little piece of advice and went straight to the pharmacist to blackmail him into giving Sonny total placebos.
So Sonny is completely unmedicated, which is extremely dangerous for everyone, especially Avery Jerome-Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola).
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sonny Could Be Declared Criminally Insane
Sonny could very well go off the rails and do something reckless and impulsive. He wouldn’t likely harm Avery, but he might hurt someone else.
Maybe Ava even goads him into attacking her. He could scream at her in a public place and threaten her, and that might be enough. She knows what to say to push the dimpled don’s buttons.
It could turn into a big mess. And now that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), Laura Collins (Genie Francis), and newly minted police officer Heller are after him, all Sonny has to do is make one stupid mistake, and he could either be thrown in prison or hauled off to Ferncliff and declared criminally insane.
Should either of these scenarios occur, he will most certainly lose custody of Avery, and there may not be anything “Killer Miller” (aka Diane Miller, played by Carolyn Hennesy) will be able to do about it.
Ava knows precisely what she’s doing, and as cunning and manipulative as she is, she probably had a plan all along.
She knows how powerful and resourceful Sonny is, and she either wants a piece of the action or to take him for everything he’s worth.
Sonny needs to watch his back. While Sonny has connections and often gets what he wants, Ava is still formidable, and she’s a Jerome. She just might win.
