‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Ric Encourages Ava To Reopen Custody Case With Sonny As Mob Boss’s Enemies Present Danger To His Children

‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers tease that Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) may encourage Ava Jerome (Maura West) to reopen the custody case with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sonny’s Kids Are Vulnerable To Attack

The recent fire at Sonny’s penthouse demonstrated how the mob boss’s enemies present danger to his children. Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) is in the hospital severely burned after nearly losing his life.

The dire consequences of Sonny’s chosen business have left his kids vulnerable to attack. Avery Jerome-Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) is just a little girl.

Had she been trapped in the fire as well, the outcome could have been even more tragic. Ava hasn’t been in much of a position to wage this war against Sonny, but now an opportunity has presented itself.

Sonny counted Ava out, considering Ava was forced to relinquish her piece of the Cassadine pie. She didn’t have the funds to pay hotshot lawyer Ric.

However, circumstances have changed, and if Ava strikes while the iron is hot, she could retain full custody of Avery.

Ava knows Ric’s prowess in the courtroom is unrivaled. Ric defended Ava when Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) sued her for the death of her unborn baby.

The way Ric eviscerated Kristina when she was on the stand was masterful. Ava was found not guilty and walked out of the courtroom as a free woman.

    Ric questioning Kristina

Ric hates his half-brother Sonny and wouldn’t hesitate to convince Ava to go after Sonny for custody of their daughter.

He may even foot the bill since Ric and Ava have been getting closer and enjoying a flirtatious relationship.
As a bonus, he may be keeping a child safe from harm. Sonny’s reasoning for taking custody of Avery away from her never made much sense.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sonny Can’t Guarantee Avery’s Safety

Sonny threw Ava out of the penthouse and wrote her off due to Ava’s involvement in having Alexis Davis‘s (Nancy Lee Grahn) law license revoked.

    Julian and Alexis

It’s not unusual in Sonny’s line of work to want payback, and if anyone hurts Sonny’s family, they must answer to him. He fully plans on retaliating for the fire that almost killed Michael.

Ava knows all about family loyalty. She wasn’t too thrilled with how Alexis treated Julian Jerome (William DeVry) before he died and wanted revenge on her.

If someone hurt Sonny’s late sister, Courtney Matthews (Alicia Leigh Willis), he would seek revenge. He was very protective of her when she was alive.

It may be hypocritical of Sonny to deny Ava her child because she avenged her brother. To be clear, Sonny isn’t a bad father, but he is a mafia boss.

He can’t guarantee Avery’s safety despite the numerous guards constantly staked outside Sonny’s home, not after what happened to Michael.

    Ava killed Connie

Viewers could argue that Ava killed Connie Falconeri (Kelly Sullivan) in cold blood. However, Ava is no longer associated with the Jerome crime family, such as it is.

Again, we’re not saying Ava is the better parent. Truthfully, Ava and Sonny are like-minded people cut from the same cloth.

Punishing Ava for the past isn’t the best option. A 50/50 custody agreement would be ideal for Sonny and Ava’s child.
