‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal that the show appears to finally be paving the way for Ava Jerome’s (Maura West) road to redemption.
General Hospital Spoilers: Ava Knows She’s In Too Deep
The gallery owner told Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) what happened between her and Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi).
Ava’s friendships with Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) and Nina are complex and interesting, and they humanize Ava.
It looks like the writers are going to repair Ava’s broken relationship with Nina and keep Trina in her corner despite vehement protests from her bestie, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy).
Ava admitted to Trina and Nina that her alliance with John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington) was a mistake. She’s also starting to realize how desperate Agent Cates is to take Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) down at all costs.
John convinced Ava to lie and say that Kristina threatened her life and tried to kill her. Thankfully, Sonny came by the gallery and offered to save Ava’s life.
At first, Ava thought having an FBI agent on her side was a fantastic plan. But John’s shown his true colors. He’ll throw anyone under the bus to get to Sonny.
The look on Ava’s face when John walked in and demanded that she come with him under protective custody said it all. She knows Cates is a total lunatic, and she can’t align herself with a dirty cop.
This is Ava’s chance to redeem herself; we think she’ll take it. She and Sonny will team up against John, and since we all know Ava’s an expert when it comes to recording someone, they’ll devise a plan for her to record Cates admitting that he’s coercing Ava to lie about what went down at the Metro Court.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sonny And Ava Conspire Against Cates
As viewers know, Ava and Kristina were in an altercation in Ava’s suite. Ava went to grab Kristina, and while trying to get loose, Kristina tripped over Agent Cates’s bag. This sent her crashing through the window, falling several stories, and landing in the Metro court pool.
Kristina’s baby died as a result, and John couldn’t care less. He’s using Ava to lie about what happened and frame Kristina for attempted murder.
No good can come from Ava’s cooperation with Cates. Ava can right this wrong and prove to the court that John is forcing Ava to go along with his fabrication of events by recording him.
John would lose his badge and probably end up in prison himself. If that were the case, it would be karmic justice. Agent Cates has gone rogue and crossed the line.
He’s obviously too obsessed with Sonny to honor his role in law enforcement and truly protect and serve. He’s only concerned with protecting his own interests.
Setting up Cates would mutually benefit Sonny and Ava. Sonny could free his daughter from these bogus charges, and the martini-drinking minx may have a chance of reaching a civil agreement with Sonny over the custody battle for Avery Jerome-Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola).
It may take time, but the writers seem to be headed on the path of redemption for Ava. Hopefully, her character will break her deal with the devil and do the right thing.
