‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal that Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) found out the shocking truth that her daughter, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), was recruited as a WSB agent. Laura Wright recently dished to Soap Opera Digest about how Carly plans to handle it.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Jason Felt He Had To Tell The Truth About Joss
Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) couldn’t handle seeing Carly defend Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) after he had been lying to her for months and keeping this massive secret about Joss.
Carly didn’t believe Jason at first, but once Jason explained the situation, she finally understood that Jack had betrayed her in the worst way imaginable.
Brennan used one of her kids to become involved in a dangerous career behind Carly’s back. Carly could not be more emotionally wrecked and livid.
When Carly told Jason that she needed to get Joss out of the spy world immediately, Jason hit her with another whammy: she can’t tell anyone Joss is in the WSB, or it could put her life in jeopardy.
Carly doesn’t want to risk Joss’s life, so it’s going to be interesting to see how she handles Joss and Brennan. She may need to pretend she knows nothing for a while.
The idea that Jack would keep Carly in the dark about something this significant hurts Carly deeply. She shared her pain with Brennan about Morgan Corinthos’s (Bryan Craig) death. She’s been sleeping with a man who has been lying to her face.
She outright told Jack that she couldn’t bear the thought of anything happening to another one of her children. Wright said,
“She’s just utterly rocked and devastated. I mean, this is her kid.”
She continued,
“And here’s the thing: Jason has been warning her about this person. Anna has been warning her about this person from the beginning. And she fought and fought. ‘No, no,’ she told Jack, ‘I believe you and I trust you.”
The idea that Joss may go off on a mission one day and may not return is a nightmare and a mother’s worst fear, particularly for Carly, who has already lost a child. It’s a huge shock for her.
General Hospital Spoilers: Carly Is Forming Her Plan Of Revenge
Carly isn’t simply going to accept that Brennan lied to her and do nothing. She’s going to seek revenge on Jack for what he did to her and her daughter.
Another aspect of the situation is that Joss felt like she couldn’t tell her own mother the truth. Joss has been lying to Carly as well, and the two of them have always had a close relationship. In the October 17th episode, Carly grilled Joss.
Carly has connected the dots and realizes that nothing has been the same for Joss since Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) died. She doesn’t even know that Brennan helped Joss confront Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), which resulted in Joss shooting him.
Afterwards, Jack helped Joss clean up the mess, and that’s when he offered her a position in the WSB.
Carly will also learn that her daughter has even had to kill people. The next few encounters Carly will have with Joss and Brennan will be highly intense.
Wright explains that Carly goes to Jack and asks,
“I need you to promise me that if you ever think Josslyn is in danger, you’ll tell me. And he’s like ‘absolutely.’ And she just stares at him like, ‘I cannot believe you just lied to my face.”
The actress teases,
“Carly very much wants revenge on Brennan. Carly’s going to handle it her way. I mean, this is Carly we’re talking about! In her mind, it’s ‘I’m going to do whatever I have to do.”
Wright concludes,
“It’s very, very tricky. She’s like, I’m taking him down, and I’m going to protect my daughter. She’s not 100 percent sure of her plan, but she’s trying to figure it out.”
