General Hospital spoilers suggest that the best storyline right now is the mystery and the drama surrounding Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) return and her inevitable reunion with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The Soap Scribes Responded With “Equal Parts Excitement And Trepidation”
Fans are clamoring for answers about the circumstances regarding her so-called death in January 2023 and how Britt managed to survive her poisonous cut from “the Hook.”
Last week, Jason grilled Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) about what happened when Britt supposedly died. Jason knows Obrecht isn’t lying.
This poor woman truly believes that her daughter tragically died in her arms. Fans recall the following scene, in which Obrecht kisses a very much dead-looking Britt on the forehead at the morgue and says goodbye.
The soap scribes responded with “equal parts excitement and trepidation” when they learned that Britt would be resurrected.
We have to wonder whether it’s because Britt’s death appeared so final, and they didn’t want to take away from the emotional punch the scenes packed.
However, that was well over two years ago, and we think they knew Britt’s return would be a force of nature, not just for the show, but for several characters on the canvas.
The writers dished to Soap Opera Digest and explained,
“We didn’t want to get our hopes up too high only for it not to work out. We should have had faith in Frank (Valentini, executive producer)! He made it happen, and we’re grateful that he did!”
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Van Etten And Korte Have Nothing But Love For “The Britch”
Head writers, Van Etten and Korte, have nothing but love for “the Britch.”
“Britt is great because she’s spiky on the outside and spiky on the inside.”
They continue,
“Deep down, she does have a vulnerable streak, but you’re sure to get poked through with holes trying to bring it to the surface. What’s fun is learning who on the canvas may risk getting hurt in order to get through that vulnerability.”
They added,
“She’s also dead sexy and has a snarky wit and an entrenched sense of entitlement.”
The scribes admitted that,
“Bringing someone back from the dead is always dicey. Some returns are harder to execute than others.”
They observed,
“But good actors and characters reward the effort, and that’s the case here. It helps that Britt is the offspring of two larger-than-life parents; Faison and Obrecht exist in that soap opera space in which anything is possible.”
Of course, GH fans knew that the writers were setting the stage for Britt’s comeback by having Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) discover his true origins and that Britt was the woman who gave birth to him.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Jason Believes Britt Has Stayed Away Due to Her Huntington’s Diagnosis
We can’t wait to see Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Breuning) taken down a peg by Britt. Needless to say, since Lulu returned, she’s been nothing but a pain in the a** and it would be fun to see someone on Britt’s level take a well-deserved swipe at her.
Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Lulu’s epic feud, Obrecht’s return, and Rocco’s search for the truth have dovetailed perfectly into Britt’s triumphant return.
Next, let’s talk about a reunion between Jason and Britt. These two were only together for a short stint, but they built a strong and loyal fanbase. Not to mention, they had sizzling chemistry.
According to the writers,
“Jason has seen the vulnerability beneath Britt’s hard and brittle shell. Each has the other’s number, and neither will let the other forget it. But they also challenge each other.”
Jason has concluded that Britt has stayed away from Port Charles due to her Huntington’s diagnosis. Jason told Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) that he would respect Britt’s choice.
Remember, Britt still doesn’t know that Jason is alive. That said, we think it won’t be long before Jason and Britt finally come face to face. And we can’t wait!
