General Hospital spoilers suggest that Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) may not have wanted anyone to know that she’s alive so she could spare them from watching her Huntington’s Disease progress.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Britt’s Mother Would Have Had To Care For Her
In her hotel room in Croatia, we saw Britt inject herself with some kind of mysterious drug. We surmise that the drug must be for her illness.
While we’re wracking our brains trying to figure out exactly how and what Britt did so that she would survive the poison hook, we assume the soap wouldn’t rewrite her Huntington’s.
Britt doesn’t strike us as the type who would accept anyone taking care of her, which was inevitable if she had stayed in Port Charles with her “mutter.”
Lisel Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) would have stayed by Britt’s side until her dying day. If there was one person in the world that Britt loved, it was her mother.
When Obrecht held her in her arms as she supposedly perished, they both felt the mother-daughter bond that transcends life and death.
We believe the emotions in the scene between Obrecht and Britt were real, but the tragic outcome of her death obviously wasn’t. We all saw it.
That said, we know why Britt initially decided to leave town in the first place. She wanted to die with dignity, without pity or others shedding tears over her. She may have opted not to return to Port Charles, despite her miraculous survival.
Britt likely knew that it would crush her mother if she had to watch her die all over again from her Huntington’s. She may have kept the truth from Obrecht in case this new treatment wasn’t successful.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Someone Helped Britt Survive “The Hook”
Regardless, someone helped her escape from the morgue. Obviously, Professor Henry Dalton (Daniel Goddard) is connected to Britt since the courier delivered the backpack directly to her.
We also know Britt is working for this “mystery boss.” Is it in exchange for a miracle drug that slows the progression of her Huntington’s? We’ll find out.
We have to wonder who this mystery man is that Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and Professor Dalton seem so intimidated by.
Somehow, these storylines must be connected. It’s been months since Dalton arrived in Port Charles, and we still haven’t learned much about him.
It will be interesting to see Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) finally find Britt. She’ll obviously be shocked to see he’s alive, just like he was shocked to see her at the airport. Will they have a warm reunion, or will Britt try to push him away?
Britt never felt for anyone what she felt with Jason. The two of them shared a beautiful bond, and both characters opened up to each other in a way they hadn’t in a long time.
Britt felt safe enough to share her Huntington’s diagnosis with Jason. Still, she may be reluctant to give him the key to her heart once again after he left her to marry Carly Spencer (Laura Wright).
She also let everyone believe she was dead. That said, we can imagine it’s going to be an uphill battle for Jason to get Britt back to Port Charles again.
