‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers say that there’s a ‘new’ Jennifer Horton in town. Actress Cady McClain has temporarily replaced Melissa Reeves as Jennifer, as reports have indicated that Melissa decided not to return to DOOL when filming resumed back on September 1. Here’s what you need to know.
Cady made her debut in Salem this week and of course, it didn’t take very long for DOOL fans to weigh in on Cady’s performance, with a lot of people saying that they are impressed with her work so far, while others couldn’t help but admit that they miss seeing actress Melissa Reeves in the role.

Some comments included, “I was surprised to see another actor player her. But I thought that she did a great job. Everyone needs to give her a chance,” along with, “Just watched Friday’s show. That was painful. I’m sure she would be fine in another role but she’s no Jennifer Rose. If Missy is unavailable because of covid, I’d rather they write the character out for the time being.”
Another fan put it this way, “I grew up with Missy as Jennifer. I have loved many stories with her in the role over the years. I don’t agree with her personal opinions. Not at all. I also think she is in a different place in her life. She wants to enjoy her family and be a grandma. Cady is a talented and Emmy winning actress. Sure- her take on Jennifer will be different but I am fine with it. I would rather have Jennifer in Salem played by Cady than not have Jennifer in Salem. We need Hortons in Salem.”
