NBC ‘Days of our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers indicate that yes, Jennifer Horton will remain in Salem and that no, the character’s portrayer Melissa Reeves has not been fired from the hit NBC soap. As a matter of fact, one outlet was forced to release a statement after it falsely claimed that the actress was let go from her position at the daytime television drama after some controversial comments that were made about the Black Lives Matter movement that has swept the nation this year. Here’s what you need to know.
While Melissa herself has not made any additional comments after some eagle-eyed fans noticed that she liked Instagram posts denouncing Black Lives Matter made my controversial commentator Candace Owner, TV Line reported that she was fired by DOOL producers. However, they were quick to correct the matter while calling it a “technical error” in reporting.

The site wrote, “Due to technical error, a story was briefly published on TVLine on Monday evening — and has since surfaced on several of our partner feeds, most notably Yahoo — that erroneously claims ‘Days of Our Lives’ has fired Melissa Reeves. The story is false. Melissa Reeves has not been fired from ‘Days of Our Lives’. In the meantime, we apologize for the error.”

Apparently, TV Line likes to think of itself as “a concentrated stream of breaking TV news, original previews and insightful recaps/reviews.” It launched in 2011 and aims to “cut through the clutter and be a household name in trusted content” so readers can “easily and efficiently” find the relevant news.
NBC is yet to make any comments about the matter. The cast and crew of DOOL are expected back in the studios by September 1 to resume filming after production was suspended back in mid-March because of the coronavirus outbreak.
