The Super Bowl between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals was a pretty decent game with some officiating being called out as normal. Though overall, both teams played their hearts out and it was a pretty close game, with the Rams winning 23-20.
However, before the game started, we had an interesting intro from Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Now, before I criticize him, let me say I was a huge Rock fan back in the WWF days and there’s no doubt he was just channeling some wrestling hype into his speech, but it ended up being pretty corny.

Rams & Bengals Players We As Confused By Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s Super Bowl Intro As We Were
While we watched at home, the players on the sidelines seemed to have the same response we did. From Joe Burrow saying, “what is he doing out there?” to Aaron Donald just shaking his head with a smile, it seemed pretty obvious that Johnson was overdoing it, and it ended up being less than stellar.
I think they should have opened up the game as they used to a few years ago. When Kurt Russell introduced the Seahawks and Broncos in 2014, that was what they should have done with Johnson.
Instead, we had a weird WWE promotion video in the middle of a football field in front of people who (probably) aren’t wrestling fans. Had they added some production behind him, and let him hype up each time like Kurt Russell did, no doubt it would have been an incredible intro.
Though, as it turned out, I’m with Burrow and the other guys… “What is he doing…?” But, I do “like his shoes”.
