Taylor Swift has become somewhat of a good luck charm for NFL teams, and this time, Philadelphia Eagles star cornerback Darius Slay is making a public plea for her to stay away from their upcoming matchup.
Speaking on his Big Play Slay podcast, the 5-time Pro Bowler humorously addressed Taylor Swift’s recent attendance at Chiefs games in support of Travis Kelce. Slay had a playful message for the “Anti-Hero” singer, saying, “Taylor, do not come to the game, ’cause it seems like you bring the energy of winning.”
Slay’s concerns aren’t unfounded, as the Chiefs have maintained a perfect 2-0 record with Swift in the crowd. They convincingly defeated the Bears during her first appearance and secured a road victory over the Jets in her most recent outing.
Philadelphia Eagles Star Cornerback Darius Slay Wants Taylor Swift To Stay FAR AWAY From Their Game Against The Chiefs
The Eagles are set to face the Chiefs in a Super Bowl rematch on November 20 in Philadelphia, a game scheduled for Monday Night Football. Given Taylor’s history of supporting the Eagles and her newfound reputation as a game-day charm, her presence seems likely.
Taylor Swift‘s attendance at NFL games has undeniably boosted TV ratings. The Chiefs vs. Jets game, for instance, reached a peak of 29 million viewers and averaged 27 million throughout the contest, making it NBC Sports’ highest-ever streaming audience for a regular season Sunday Night Football matchup.
As Swift’s game-day aura gains more attention, teams and cities are increasingly feeling the pressure, with Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey even extending an invitation to Taylor for the Chiefs’ upcoming road game this weekend, hoping for a touch of her winning energy.
