On sMothered, we have seen a lot of cringe-worthy relationships between mothers and daughters. One of these mother-daughter duos that have made us cringe is Lauren and Lisa. Lauren is very close to having her first baby and she and her wife, Laura Leigh are very excited. Lauren knows that she wants her mother to be very involved in her birth, but Laura Leigh isn’t so sure.
sMothered: The Baby Shower Drama
The planning of the baby shower has been a little stressful for the women, but things are starting to come together. Things begin to go sideways when Lisa tells Laura Leigh that she will help her with paying for the games and prizes at the shower. Lisa’s husband says, “Y’all can work together. What could possibly go wrong?”
sMothered: Laura Leigh Refuses to Have Her Wife’s Mother in Delivery Room
Laura Leigh knows that Lisa wants to help and she tells her that they can go in for some of the bigger gifts together, but she doesn’t want her to go behind her back and buy them all. Lisa tells her that she is buying some backup games because she doesn’t feel like the ones Laura Leigh chose were appropriate for the baby shower.
Lauren’s father tells Laura Leigh, “Lauren and Lisa are absolute control freaks. It’s either their way or the highway, right?” Then Laura Leigh tells him, “You’re right. Some days, I don’t know if the battle’s worth it. I feel like I’m going to be like you, an old beaten donkey.” He then says, “I have her back to a certain point. I have her back as much as I can and still keep my marriage.”
When it comes to Lauren‘s delivery plan, that has Laura Leigh pretty upset too. Lauren wants Lisa to be in the delivery room, but Laura Leigh tells the cameras, “I would really prefer if it was just me and Lauren in the delivery room. But of course, Lauren thinks she needs her mom.”
Lauren says, “I do need her. I mean, no one can calm me down like my mom. This is going to be a really difficult time. And I’m going to need both of y’all.”
Things are getting incredibly tense with Laura Leigh and Lisa and if Laura Leigh has it her way, Lisa will not be in the delivery room because she feels that she is the only one that Lauren needs.
