When Sherri Papini, the white, blonde, All-American Mother of two went missing in California for 3 weeks in 2016 a national alert went up because it was thought that she was just kidnapped by two strangers in a van outside her home and possibly sold into sex trafficking.
For three weeks her husband cried and pleaded and we all sat on pins and needles with him waiting on any developments in the case. We suspected that by now the young Mom had been spirited away to another country, or worse. Then, as if by magic around Thanksgiving of 2016 Sherri Pappini turned up 150 miles away from her home on a roadside, beaten and branded, saying that she had been kidnapped by two hispanic women.

But then we didn’t hear anything else about the case and it would seem that the Papini’s moved and life moved on for them but something about it wasn’t right. Now Pappini is being accused of stealing over $30K from the California Victim’s Aid fund because she accepted financial assistance from them when it is alleged by her ex-boyfriend that she staged the entire thing and spent 3 weeks at his house in Costa Mesa, California until she was ready to leave and go back to her family.
He said that he was the one that bought the wood burning tool to brand her with at hobby lobby and that Pappini was the one who gave herself the bruises by hitting her head on the tub before they left.
Now, another ex-boyfriend from 29 years ago has come forward and told authorities that this is not a new thing when it comes to Pappini, that she “only has a passing acquaintance with the truth” and that in the past age had lied to him about seemingly inconsequential things.
Like in order to go surfing she insisted that she had to use her own surfboard, which, id you’re a surfer you’ll know that that is not the way surfing works you just pick a board and go. He also said that Sherri previously lied about having a heart condition… geeze, if you don’t want to go surfing just say you don’t want to go surfing!
The Pappini family has released a statement saying that they love Sherri and are appalled at the way that kaw enforcement ambushed her in front of her children and are confused about the nature of some of the charges, one of which is mail fraud.
Right now Papini is in quarantine in a Sacramento County nail for two weeks and cannot see anyone for that time. We at DSD will keep an eye on this case. Stay tuned!
