General Hospital spoilers ask fans if Sofia Mattsson, who recently left the role of Sasha Corbin, was offered a role on another soap, should she go to DOOL or Y&R?
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sophia Mattson Left GH To Pursue Other Opportunities
Sofia Mattsson left GH to pursue other opportunities, but made it clear that she would definitely be interested in returning someday.
While Mattsson feels that her GH character has unfinished business in Port Charles, namely with Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson), we thought, just for fun, we would ponder this question.
If Mattsson were to join Days of Our Lives, we think she might make a good Abigail DiMera (last played by Marci Miller). Even though Abigail was brutally murdered, it’s still a soap.
There are no rules when it comes to back-from-the-dead storylines on soaps, as no death is ever really final, especially on Days.
That goes double for Days of Our Lives. The show enjoys telling supernatural and science fiction-inspired stories.
In Salem, Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay) can simply preserve the body in a suspended state indefinitely in a cryogenic chamber.
Resurrection is a common theme in DOOL stories. Now that Billy Flynn is exiting the part of Chad DiMera, and Y&R’s Conner Floyd is stepping into his shoes, there could also be a new Abigail as well.
Additionally, Mattsson could also play Sloan Peterson, the part originated by Jessica Serfaty. Mattsson bears a striking resemblance to the DOOL actress.
Also, Mattsson’s Sasha started on GH as a troublemaker. Her character evolved into a kind, selfless young woman who was willing to give up the man she loved to her (then) BFF.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Mattsson Resembles Sloan Peterson On DOOL
Sasha’s intention was for Michael to marry Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) so that she and Michael could protect his son and get custody of Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) away from evil Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier).
If that doesn’t describe the actions of someone with a heart of gold, we don’t know what does. It might be fun for Sofia to play a schemer again. Baby stealing, Sloan Peterson definitely fits the bill.
Sofia Mattsson could also play a new and fiery character who turns EJ DiMera’s (Dan Feuerriegel) head and charms him away from Belle Black (Martha Madison).
Let’s be honest. Whether she played Sloan or a new character, Mattsson and Feuerriegel would make a sizzling on-screen pair.
Then there is Claire Brady (last played by Isabela Durant), or as Belle calls her, “Claire Bear.” Mattsson could certainly play this legacy character.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Mattsson Would Be The Perfect Summer Newman On Y&R
On The Young and the Restless, we could see Mattsson take over the role of Summer Newman (last played by Allison Lanier).
Sofia looks a lot like the first Summer, played by Hunter King. We would love to see Mattsson come between Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Claire Newman (Hayley Erin).
Mattsson would be perfect as Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) daughter. After all, the two actresses got along famously when she played Nina Reeves on GH.
We can also imagine Mattsson and Mealor having explosive chemistry. That might awaken Claire’s sinister side. These two talented actresses, Sofia Mattsson and Hayley Erin, would be suitably matched as romantic rivals.
We think she may also work as Daisy Carter (last played by Yvonne Zima). Again, Sofia may be tired of playing nice, and Daisy was the epitome of wickedness, which would allow Mattsson to challenge herself as an actress.
Whether DOOL, Y&R, or GH, any soap would be lucky to have Sofia. Regardless, we hope to see Sophia on our screens again very soon.
