‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers suggest that Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rotta) arrival in Port Charles seemed to fly under the radar, and we’re not sure how it’s possible.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sidwell Is A Wanted Man
Sidwell is an international criminal and a wanted man. He came to town from Africa after he held Lucky Spencer (Johnathan Jackson) captive. He attempted to kill Lucky, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes).
His most recent crime is kidnapping Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) to retrieve his stolen diamonds, which Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) swiped off him.
Not only is Sidwell openly doing business in Port Charles. He also purchased Wyndemere and is using his real name instead of appearing under an alias like any intelligent, sane criminal would do.
The head of the WSB, Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure), is aware of Sidwell and led the assault squad that attempted to kill him.
Interpol informed Anna the minute Sidwell set foot into the US. He also grilled Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) about who’s who in Port Charles, and she didn’t even seem to know who he was.
A fan theory that’s been mulled over is that Sidwell is responsible for the fire in Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse that almost killed Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and left him severely burned.
They also mentioned that Brennan told Anna that the device used to burn up Sonny’s place was from the WSB, which Sidwell had access to.
It’s an interesting idea for Sidwell to be involved in the explosion at Sonny’s penthouse, but we don’t think Sidwell would buy the property and settle himself in if he were just in town to commit another crime.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Is Sidwell Hiding In Plain Sight?
It’s the same baffling storytelling that’s allowing Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) to roam the halls of General Hospital. All the while killing patients with digitalis after he was told to leave and not come back. It makes no sense that Sidwell would show up and not immediately be arrested.
Sidwell could also stay in Port Charles to join forces with major power players who could protect him from imprisonment. He could set up a new criminal organization.
That being said, Sidwell could find a way to compete with Sonny if he sets up shop in Port Charles. It was a trip to see him walk into Ava Jerome’s (Maura West) art gallery and inquire about paintings.
However, he may have a more sinister reason for visiting Ava’s place of business. Sidwell has unlimited resources to create a grand master plan for revenge against his enemies.
Perhaps he could start up another international criminal empire in Port Charles. Jenz could even compete with Sonny if he intends to do that. However, if he’s feeling particularly ambitious, he could take down the entire WSB.
Sidwell also had the pilot killed, who flew the plane to bring Lucky, Jason, and Anna home. He could still be gunning for them.
It looks like Sidwell doesn’t take defeat lightly, which may be his chief reason for showing up in Port Charles. That said, it’s odd that not many people have noticed he’s around.
