Anna and Robert Share a Long and Complicated History
Of course, GH fans know that Anna and Robert are a legendary couple from the 80s during the heyday of GH.
The two of them got together while working for the WSB, secretly married in Italy, and share a daughter, Robin Scorpio Drake (Kimberly McCollogh).
Robert came to Port Charles in 1980 and became Luke Spencer’s (Tony Geary) best friend. Later, Anna arrived in Port Charles in 1985 as a jewel thief and former double agent.
WSB bosses Sean Donnely (John Reilly) and Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) didn’t allow agents to get involved romantically, so they orchestrated a plan to break them up.
Faison purposefully sent Robert on a mission that exposed Anna as a double agent. At the time, she was working for both the WSB and DVX.
Robert promptly broke up with her when he found out. They eventually found their way back to each other again, after the truth came out, but eventually divorced.
Since then, the two of them have maintained a long-time friendship and worked well together when Anna was the police commissioner, and Robert was the district attorney.
Anna Was Drugged, Tortured, and Gaslighted While Being Held Hostage at Wyndemere
Anna could always count on Robert to have her back. While GH is taking its sweet time figuring out a plan for Robert’s impending exit, rumors are swirling that he’ll end up rescuing Anna.
Since no one seems to be moving forward with a rescue mission for Anna, we suspect that one last heroic act may be right in Robert’s wheelhouse.
Robert has long been a heroic character, and while Anna is languishing in a mental health facility, the doctors are telling her she’s insane.
However, Anna was severely gaslighted by Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), who was pretending to be Cesar Faison (Anders Hove), to torture Anna until she finally snapped.
Anna is one of the sharpest tools in the shed and is by no means “crazy.” She was drugged, held hostage, and gaslighted.
We also suspect that many of the doctors at the mental health institution where Anna is staying in France may even be on Cullum and Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) payrolls.
That means that they may be inclined to keep her at the facility against her will, even if she’s somehow demonstrated she doesn’t actually have a mental health disorder.
Who knows? They may even be giving her drugs to drive her past her breaking point. Whatever the case, we definitely don’t trust the staff working at that hospital.
No One Else is Moving Forward with a Rescue Mission for Anna
Plus, several characters have been trying to advocate for Anna, but they clearly don’t comprehend the danger she may be in.
Her granddaughter, Emma Scorpio Drake (Braeyden Bruner), has been an emotional wreck, worried about Anna. Mac Scorpio (John J. York) and Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) are clueless.
The only person privy to Anna’s situation is Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), but she’s currently being held hostage in that creepy room at Wyndemere.
So, it’s highly probable that the only person who can help Anna is Robert. We can imagine Robert getting himself killed while rescuing Anna.
Robert’s death would be tragic, but we can’t think of a better way to honor the iconic character and the man behind Robert’s stoic persona, Tristan Rogers, by giving him the heroic ending they deserve.
