‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal a major casting shocker. Kelly Thiebaud, who played Britt Westbourne, is returning to GH.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Britt Tragically Died In Her Mother’s Arms
Last we saw of Britt, she had heartbreakingly died in her mother, Liesel Obrecht’s (Kathleen Gati) arms after being attacked by “the Hook,” who turned out to be a deranged Heather Webber (Alley Mills).
Britt found out she had the marker for Huntington’s disease and decided to throw herself a huge birthday bash on New Year’s Eve 2022 before leaving Port Charles.
She saved Josslyn Jacks’s (Eden McCoy) life as she fought “the Hook” and ended up with a mean and poisonous cut that took her life.
Britt proved through her heroic act that she was no longer “the Britch” and redeemed herself by sacrificing her life for the sake of others.
Britt is a fan favorite, and there is no doubt that the news that her portrayer is coming back to the show has viewers cheering.
Thiebaud left the soap in January 2023. She had started on GH in 2012 after a brief stint on Days of Our Lives as Alicia. She left GH in 2015 but returned from 2017 to 2018 and again from 2020 to 2023.
In 2020, Thiebaud went back to Days to play the short-term role of Zoey Burge. Britt was introduced as a physician at ‘General Hospital’ and was a bit of an antagonist.
She became obsessed with Dr. Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson), who at the time was grieving his presumed dead wife, Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCollough).
Britt stole Lulu Spencer’s (Alexa Havins Breuning) and Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamprogna) embryos, implanted them into herself, and pretended she was pregnant with Patrick’s child.
She gave birth to a baby boy, whom she named Ben, but eventually, Dante and Lulu discovered the truth and reclaimed their son, renaming him Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr).
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Britt And Brad Were Quite The Entertaining Pair
Britt and Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) were BFFs, and fans adored their hilarious at-home red-carpet commentary during the Nurses Ball. The pair would memorably eat ice cream and make fun of those attending the event.
Britt was also romantically involved with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). However, he decided to marry Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), as everyone believed that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) was dead.
We don’t know yet whether Thiebaud will reprise her role as Britt Westbourne, but we do know Thiebaud will be home soon. Thiebaud opted to leave the show in 2023, which prompted the writers to kill off Britt.
At the time of her exit, Thiebaud shared,
“As much as I love Britt, and I love the fans, and I love working on General Hospital, I just felt like I had to leave and go pursue those other dreams and goals of mine because being on GH full-time doesn’t really allow the flexibility to do other projects.”
Britt’s death appeared to be final, but you never know in the land of soaps who will come back from the dead and shock the whole town.
The executive producer warmly welcomed Thiebaud back to the show.
“I am thrilled to have Kelly back on our show,
He exclaimed.
“We have some great twists and turns planned for her character.”
The actress commented about her return to GH. She didn’t clarify if she would play Britt again, but she did say, “It’s good to be home.”
