‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers suggest that Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) could have bipolar disorder like her father, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Kristina Has A Family History That Includes Bipolar Disorder
Kristina’s history shows that she makes impulsive decisions and has ever since she was a teenager. She may also be delusional in her belief that Ava Jerome (Maura West) pushed her and caused the accident that killed her baby.
Ava didn’t push her, but she did lay her hands on Kristina, and Kristina backed away from her as she tripped and went crashing through a window and falling into the Metro Court pool.
Kristina’s version of events strongly begs to differ. With that in mind, Kristina also witnessed Ava standing over Sonny while he was lying on the floor, clutching his chest.
The gallery owner saw the bottle of pills next to him, and cooly asked, “Oh, do you need those?” As Ava stood over him, taunting him, Kristina came into the room and saw her father, and Ava wasn’t helping him. Fortunately, Kristina was there to give him his heart pills.
At that moment, Kristina snapped and thought Ava needed to be stopped. She cut the brakes on what she believed was Ava’s car, but it belonged to Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst). He and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) were hurt in the accident.
It was an extreme decision Kristina made, and we saw how out of her mind she was. She has a family history that includes bipolar disorder, as Sonny has a mental illness, and her late brother, Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig), also had bipolar disorder.
It’s also possible that Kristina is simply suffering from a mental breakdown or a psychotic break. In causing such a serious accident, Kristina risked going to prison to try to hurt Ava.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Kristina May End Up In Ferncliff
Kristina never thinks about the consequences of her actions. She could wind up in prison, or she could be institutionalized for a while.
If she goes to Ferncliff, she may get the help she needs. She’s mentally unstable and should have probably kept up with her therapy sessions.
However, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) is the one who helped Kristina, but sadly, Sam died tragically late last year.
Kristina doesn’t have the kind of relationship with Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) she had with Sam. She’s minus a big sister who would have likely pushed her to continue therapy until she healed.
It’s also worth noting that when Molly finds out what Kristina did, their relationship may be over.
Kristina may need a professional to evaluate and diagnose her if she has bipolar disorder. We have a feeling that’s where this story is headed, given the consistent emphasis on the similarities between Sonny and Kristina. Both have an incessant thirst for revenge.
We can’t say we see Kristina being put in jail. She’s the daughter of a known mob boss, and she’d be a target in prison.
Kristina needs help to process the grief and trauma of losing her child and sister so close together. She is now faced with the possibility of losing her father due to a heart condition.
We suspect Ava will be the first to figure out what Kristina did, and she’ll likely blackmail Kristina with a list of demands. Kristina’s only hope may be to admit her wrongdoing and agree to mental health treatment.
