‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal that our friendly neighborhood cult leader, Shiloh Archer (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) is nearing the end of the road. He’s been scam—er, helping the citizens of Port Charles since December of last year, but to paraphrase McLaughlin, “All things come to an end.” Here’s what you need to know.
‘General Hospital’ spoilers: The basics
Shiloh Archer came to Port Charles a successful cult leader determined to take on a new town (and get some revenge at the same time), as he had already been running Beechers Corner for some time. Over this time there, he’s run afoul of pretty much every character on the show, and a good chunk of the fan base. Overall, the actor himself has been taking it in stride. He has made a bit of a joke more than once of being the most hated man in Port Charles.
‘General Hospital’ spoilers: 9 lives
This character has certainly had his share of luck, getting out of one potential mess after another. It’s led fans to wonder if he’ll ever finally face the comeuppance that’s been due. This was especially true once he started cozying up with Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) in Pentonville, as well as involving Peter August (Wes Ramsey) in his situation. His most recent move to get out of facing the music might have just been what sealed his fate.
Peter August wasn’t appreciative of Shiloh holding the information that Peter was working with Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) to steal memories from both Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Drew Cain (Billy Miller). So much so, he finally got tired of Shiloh’s pressure and threats and hired a hit man. In the most recent episode, we saw him passing along a weapon and a uniform to the guy and ordering him to get rid of his troublesome new partner. This time, it looks like Shiloh won’t be squirming his way out of things.

McLaughin posted an Instagram story late yesterday that linked to a @SoapOperaNews post about the character leaving, captioning it, “If you haven’t heard.” He also did a series of video stories expressing his gratitude for the experience of being on the show. This leads us to believe that the hit Peter ordered on Shiloh is most likely going to be successful. We’re sort of going to miss this scheming egomaniac, but we’re sure McLaughlin will have a long future ahead in TV and movies.
