‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers confirm that Bryce Durfee will join the cast of GH on Friday, March 7th. He will play Josslyn Jack’s (Eden McCoy) WSB handler, Vaughn.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Durfee Didn’t Plan On An Acting Career
Durfee has played on some prime-time shows like Yellowstone, Hacks, and Last Man Standing. He recently spoke with Soap Opera Digest to talk about his career journey.
Bryce was born in Nebraska and raised mainly in Wisconsin. He finished high school in North Carolina. He moved around a lot growing up because of his father’s career as an engineer.
Durfee didn’t exactly plan on becoming an actor. He didn’t always aspire to be in the spotlight, nor did he ever consider it as an option.
Instead, he’d planned on going to college. His rugged good looks sealed his fate. His sister set him up to become a model, and he ended up receiving 15 modeling contracts.
He and his father went to New York City, met with several modeling agencies, and chose the best fit for him.
At age 18, Durfee moved to New York to start a modeling career. His family was extremely happy for him.
A few weeks after Durfee completed a modeling job at Abercrombie & Fitch, he received a surprise phone call from a well-known director named Joel Schumacher.
He asked Durfee to come audition for a movie called Twelve, which was a 2010 drama starring 50 Cent, Emma Roberts, and Kiefer Sutherland.
Schumacher encouraged him to take acting lessons, and that’s what made Durfee want to act. A year after that, he moved to California and continued to model while working as an actor on the side.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Durfee Auditioned For The Role Of Harrison Chase
Durfee still lives in California with his wife, Amber, and their two dogs and is very happy. He would get recurring roles and then go back to his day job of modeling. When Durfee speaks about his modeling career, he expresses gratitude.
“For like a decade, it’s been paying my bills when acting’s not,”
He mused.
He’s participated in countless campaigns for several major retailers.
Durfee admitted he’s auditioned for various roles on GH over the years, and one in particular sticks out in his mind. He tried out for the role of Harrison Chase, which, of course, went to Josh Swickard.
He knew Swickard from his modeling days.
“It was down to me, Josh, and I think a third guy,”
He explained.
“And the best man got it! Joash is absolutely fantastic, and I was really excited to run into him on the set of GH recently.”
When speaking about his first day on the set of GH, he said,
” I was anxious in the sense that I didn’t know what to expect because I knew the soap world moves fast.”
But as far as performance,
“I had just finished another project and was feeling loose and ready to go, so I was really excited for that,”
He exclaimed.
“That first day was just a whirlwind! I kind of felt like I got thrown into a washing machine and I got spit out an hour later. That’s how I remember my first day. I can’t wait to see how it turned out.”
