‘General Hospital (GH)’ spoilers reveal we’ve had plenty to say about Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright). Especially since the Wiley custody situation. Overall, we’ve found her to be a less effective Gemma Teller (Katey Sagal, Sons of Anarchy) and a bit too on her high horse.
After all, she’s lectured people about parenting when she’s willingly housed her children with a mobster. But on June 23rd, we actually kind of liked her for a bit. Let’s take a look at one of the best moments of today’s episode.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Visiting day
Apparently, she and Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) think a lot alike. General Hospital spoilers reveal they both went to the cemetery to talk to their respective husbands. However, Elizabeth had another motivation for intruding on Carly’s moment.
She took the opportunity to apologize for accusing Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) of killing Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth). This led to a really great scene where the women bonded a bit.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Opening up
Usually, Carly is pretty guarded. She’s always putting on this bravado, even when she does seem a bit intimidated. We saw that when she had a moment after the meeting with the Five Families. However, this time with Elizabeth saw Carly being real.
She accepted the apology and went on to open up to Elizabeth. She shared the pain she deals with, as well as the little things she misses. Like decent coffee, as she’s apparently not nearly as good as Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) at the task.
Watching these two share their pain as well as their challenges was a nice change of pace as far as Carly’s concerned. She knew exactly where Elizabeth was coming from and how hard it is to keep that game face on. But she admitted the cemetery is the one place where she can let out her true feelings. To be vulnerable instead of making everything okay for the kids.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Keep it up
This moment of kindness with Elizabeth, as well as the clear bonding between the two is exactly what the character needed. And we hope they’ll keep that up, because she’s much more enjoyable to watch when there’s a bit of humility and humanity showing.
Of course, General Hospital spoilers reveal tension between her and Jason on Thursday, so it’s possible this will be a one-off thing and we’ll be back to the Carly that’s meddling and pushing around others. So, we’ll take this moment while we can.
