The new Sex and the City reboot, “And Just Like That….” will have a Covid-19 storyline and needless to say, fans are certainly not happy about it. The series will be filmed back in New York City, where the virus took a major toll. Here’s what you need to know.

In a new interview with Vanity Fair, the actress says that while she hasn’t been given a script for the series yet, she has been in full contact with the writers. She confirmed that there will be an episode that will revolve around the events of the Covid-19 pandemic and how the Big Apple was the epicenter of the virus early last year.

Sarah Jessica Parker said the pandemic will “obviously be part of the storyline, because that’s the city [these characters] live in. And how has that changed relationships once friends disappear? I have great faith that the writers are going to examine it all.”

Of course, it didn’t take very long for fans to comment on the matter and it looks like many don’t want to see a Covid-19 storyline in the new SATC reboot. Some critics took to their social media comments to write, “Every detail they drop on this sounds more terrible than the last. SATC is supposed to be escapism not reality. Who wants Carrie’s take on COVID?” along with, “I don’t agree with all these shows incorporating COVID into the storyline. We’re all going to have collective trauma from this time and don’t need it in every television show. ESPECIALLY one as frivolous as SATC (I’m very much not a fan of this show lol).”

Another critic wrote, “Exactly. This sounds horrible. I don’t need Carrie’s thoughts on MeToo, and I certainly don’t need them on a f*cking pandemic that’s killed hundreds of thousands of people in the US alone.”
