Adrian Peterson is not going to be facing a felony after he was arrested for a domestic violence charge. Even his wife, Ashley has defended the NFL star saying that at no point did he ever hit her and they only had an argument whilst on a plane.
Peterson was still thrown in jail on Sunday after he had allegedly gotten physical with his wife. Ashley took to Instagram to defend him and explained that they had a verbal argument and it was unfortunately on a plane, which is already a tense place to be in itself.

Speaking to Fox 26 Sports, Peterson had explained that he got thrown in jail over a small scratch on her finger when he tried to take off the ring.
As of now, he will not be facing a felony domestic violence charge, even after he was arrested and thrown in jail. However, he’s not totally clear yet as the case will be sent to the Los Angeles City Attorney who could potentially opt to bring misdemeanor domestic violence charges against the legend.
The whole incident has been summed up as Peterson attempted to remove his wife’s wedding ring, which ended up scratching her.
While it obviously doesn’t look like they were in a good place in their relationship, Ashley coming out to defend him speaks volumes, and the scratch on her finger was obviously an accident. I would assume the L.A. City Attorney will throw this case out.
As for the couple, who knows what their future will bring. Could they be on the verge of a divorce or was it a simply misunderstanding?
