ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal we had a feeling this day was coming. And it’s apparently here. We missed the last 15 minutes, thanks to the news and it’s seeming obsession with pre-empting the shows lately, but the talk about that last fifteen minutes hints there’s a new face in a familiar role.
Let’s talk about what was reported to happen, who the new person is, and why we’re a bit sad. At the same time, though, it makes perfect sense.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Mystery stalker
Today found Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) putting a plan in motion. He set up a secret alarm at Ava Jerome’s (Maura West) gallery. ‘General Hospital’ spoilers indicate this was to catch whoever is stalking her and expose them, and the plan worked.
Apparently, during that last 15 minutes (which the news apparently couldn’t wait for. Anyone noticing a trend toward more pre-emption lately?) someone tripped it. The internet has a screenshot of a masked figure who tripped that alarm, and it looks a lot like Coloma in the eyes.
However, it obviously wasn’t Nicolas, since he was at Charlie’s waiting for that alert. This masked figure apparently came across Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla), who was stopping by to see Ava. So, who is it?
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The new guy
Apparently, it’s the new Spencer Cassadine. Actor Nicholas Alexander Chavez is reported to be in the role, and we can see it. The eyes, for one, are very similar.
And a shot online of the actor also bears quite a resemblance to his reported TV father. The actor’s appeared on shows such as Burn Notice, Good Girls, and has a move in post-production. You can see all his credits here.

We have to admit, we’re torn. While we saw this coming, we’re not sure how we feel about it. One of the first scenes we saw when we dove into watching GH regularly was of Nicolas Bechtel as Spencer.
He was talking to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and the conversation was so out there, we definitely had to see more. But, we can see why the change occurred.
Sure, ‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal Spencer was able to rig an election while clearly barely a teenager. However, there’s some seriously stalking going on with Ava, and we think an older version of the character works a bit better in this context.
Plus, there were other moments over the past year or so where they were hinting at an older character. If we remember correctly, Laura Webber (Genie Francis) mentioned something about him barely being recognizable. So, the hints have been there.
We’re curious to see what this new actor might bring to the table. One thing’s for sure, a grown Spencer will be more of a match in a war between father and son than a child/teen Spencer. And it should be interesting to see if he turned out even more like the Cassadine side than his father, because we’re not sure Port Charles is ready for that.
