ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers finds that star Wally Kurth, who is best known for his role as Ned Quartermaine on the hit ABC soap, is opening up about his character and all of the challenges and struggles he’s faced as he tries to take over ELQ once and for all. Unfortunately, there’s always an obstacle in his way. Here’s what he has to say!
Speaking to Soap Hub in a new interview, the actor shared, “Thirty years ago when I joined General Hospital, I was being groomed to take over ELQ. Now, of course, I am [the] temporary [CEO] of ELQ. Now you see [the writers] getting back into ‘Like you know what, maybe it’s time for me to take over.’ There was a big part of Ned 30 years ago that was very ambitious and he wanted to be the CEO so bad he was going after AJ. He was fighting his grandfather, and obviously his mother, so now he is kind of doing that with Michael.”

ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Wally Kurth Opens Up About Ned’s Challenges And Struggles For ELQ
And while Ned isn’t the kind of character to stoop so low into doing down and dirty things to get what he wants, Wally Kurth says that fans might be seeing a new side to his character, especially if thing issue with ELQ prolongs.
He said, “I’d say he’s a good guy, but he’s capable of being a bad guy and he can do stupid things, too. That’s kind of what I like about Ned.”
Of course, it didn’t take very long for his ‘General Hospital’ fans to respond to his comments. Quite a few of them had things to say such as, “would love to see Ned the permanent CEO of ELQ. It’s beyond suspending disbelief that Michael would run the company all these years. That being said, Ned has been in, out and all over the place with his desire to work at ELQ, be Eddie Maine, back to ELQ, rinse, repeat. The character has grown, let him finally decide what he wants to do with his life and settle into that goal and stick with it.”
Another fan wrote, “It’s also beyond disbelief because we never saw Michael go to college, Chad Duell doesn’t have the gravitas to be a believable CEO, and, even prior to the character’s “leave of absence” as CEO, it seemed like Michael never spent any damn time at the office, always running from one personal/family situation to another at all hours of the day.”
