ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal we were really looking forward to a relationship between Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Theibaud). Unfortunately, the Soap Gods had other plans for this pair.
Thanks to increasing pressure from the other families, Jason and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) realized there was one thing to do. Let’s take a look at what happened, as well as Burton’s awesome reaction to getting filled on in the things he hasn’t seen.

So, obviously, Carly’s big power move was going to bite her. After all, she made it clear she was in charge now. Not just stepping in until Jason’s situation was under control. So, it’s no surprise that the families have issue with them both being around.
Jason and Carly talked things over and realized the only way to keep from having to banish Carly (or worse) was to marry and present a united front. That would show the business is stable, while also making it clear these two are a team. Unfortunately, it’s had some consequences for those around them.

Obviously, Britt was blindsided by this. After all, she and Jason were clearly getting close and this was dropped on her out of nowhere. And we get secrecy in the business, but we feeling that an explanation was owed, given the circumstances, and Jason didn’t much of a justification.
If Britt knew the truth, she might be less hurt. Especially since that gave Carly an opening to come in and be extremely hurtful. But we loved watching Britt demand money back for the tooth brush tops she got for him. It was a random thing that brought some much-needed laughs to the situation.
Of course, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) had quite the reaction as well. She ended up getting drunk and doing something a little extreme at Elizabeth Webber’s (Rebecca Herbst) urging. This is where things took a fun turn in real life.

So, it’s clear from watching the podcast Burton has with Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli) the actors aren’t always up to date on what is going on around their characters.
Or remember what has/hasn’t aired. So, Burton got a bit of a surprise during a Soap Opera Digest interview. The interviewer told him how Sam burned some of Jason’s things at the pier. Burton’s reaction was priceless.
Said the actor, “I think that’s a little psycho! Hold on, hold on. She cut it off with me! So how is she burning stuff — she said no to me! Now you’re gonna burn my stuff? I didn’t burn anything of hers when she said, “Get out of here!” I didn’t freakin’ burn the phoenix and the dragon! Come on, man! That’s bullcrap! That’s messed up, dude.”
Honestly, we can’t disagree! Sam did break things off with him, so he does have the right to move on. Especially since she’s been somewhat dancing around an attraction to Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna).
Hopefully, we’ll see more fun commentary on the show’s situations in the future, because sometimes it’s just as entertaining (or more so) than what’s on screen. To see the full interview, check it out here.
