They also spoke a bit about how easy it was to fall back into things after years off the show. He spoke briefly about growing up in small town Canada. He dealt with racism as a child, and didn’t have his biological dad around. He praised his parents in the appearance, saying they made him who he is today. He also spoke about how he struggled with addiction, recently getting sober.

We loved his candid talk when it came to sobriety. Real shared how he finally came to grips with reality of getting fired for his behavior on sets, instead of holding on to the story he quit. It’s a great thing to see someone who struggles come back, stronger and more self-aware.

During the interview, he also talked about getting into martial arts. We’re sure that skill must come in handy while taking down the bad guys on TV. Due to his bullying as a child, he has zero tolerance, and Real isn’t shy about wanting his own kids to stand up for themselves. He was also a jock in school.

They joked during the podcast it was a bit unusual for a bullied kid to get into acting. Apparently, being an actor wasn’t exactly his dream. However, when an opportunity presented itself, he went for it and we guess we can saw the rest is history. We’re sure a lot of GH fans are happy about that.
