ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal we will see another episode or two of the 2018 Nurses Ball. But we’ll also get into the 2019 event as well. Let’s take a look at some highlights from 2018 so far, as well as what’s next for the series.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The beginning
First off, let’s talk about a major current plot that was in its early days during the 2018 Ball. It also tied in with a return. ‘General Hospital’ spoilers indicate that Mike Corbin (Max Gail) was in the early stages of Alzheimer’s’ at the time. There were two things we loved about this episode in relation to that.
One, it was another example of the sweet bond that grew between Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) and Mike, as well as the family devotion to him. He only went to the Ball for Mike’s sake, considering Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) was in legal trouble at the time. Carly fully backed the idea, and they both knew the memories made that night (as well as any brought back) will be crucial.
Secondly, we loved learning that Robin Scorpio-Drake (Kimberly McCullough) was one of the first people to notice something wasn’t right with Mike. Her scene with Sonny where he thanks her, and she expresses regret for being right about that was very well done. And we loved the Stone Cates (Michael Sutton) reference. That storyline is one of the few memories we have of that show as kids.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Highlight
A highlight of the episode was the magic act Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) performed. While we usually think public proposals like that are a bit rude and put people on the spot, it was obvious that this worked for this pairing. Jordan Ashford (Vinessa Antoine) seemed genuinely moved and surprised by the surprise, and didn’t look at all uncomfortable when she got over the initial shock and said “yes.” It also led to another nice Mike moment. Stella Henry (Vernee Watson-Johnson) wasn’t thrilled with Jordan as a daughter-in-law and it showed. When she explained to Mike there were complications, he showed he’s still got a sharp mind when he questioned if she was one of those complications. Sometimes, we just need another person to put things into perspective.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Peter’s scam
We also liked getting a look into Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) early days, when no one apparently knew his real name was Henrick. However, we saw that Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) current mission to take him down and her suspicion have him have been going on since pretty much Day 1. In this episode, she was searching his office and came across a lighter, then remembered him making a comment about how glad he is he never started smoking.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: What’s next
Finally, let’s look at what to expect as we continue the reruns. We’ll get the 2018 event on Monday and Tuesday, while the rest of the week will be the 2019 event. We’re sort of disappointed that’s being included instead of some earlier ones, as it’s so recent. But what can ya do? Starting on the 12th, we’ll see other themes taking over. The first will revolve around Sonny and Carly.
