Netflix's 'Resident Evil' Looks TERRIBLE - Can Someone Who Has Played The Games Make A Movie?

The folks over at Netflix can’t seem to figure out Resident Evil. They released an official teaser for their new film coming out this Summer and it doesn’t resemble Resident Evil at all. It looks more like a Walking Dead made for t.v. movie. Let’s just clear a couple of things out really fast: who the hell are these characters supposed to be? Why aren’t we following a story similar to the games and why is there always an apocalypse in these films?

The teaser doesn’t make me care at all about the characters, they stamp the Umbrella Corp. logo on a few things and call it New Raccoon City. There we go. There’s a Resident Evil movie. Let me take you back to the 90s’, when Resident Evil came out and I played it on PlayStation… There was a mansion, there were some zombies, and the story, characters and thrill is what propelled the game. Not mowing down endless waves of zombies.

“Nothing eventful ever happens in the peaceful New Raccoon City. The legendary franchise Resident Evil brings its battle for survival to Netflix on July 14th.”

Fans of the franchise aren’t thrilled either, “Can someone who has actually played and enjoyed the actual games just please be in charge of putting a live-action series together.”, “I know its just a teaser. But it already feels like another zombie franchise rather than an adaptation of Resident Evil. Especially with the flash forward to london 2036.”, “It can’t possibly be THIS hard to make a faithful, well done Resident Evil adaptation… my goodness.”, “This looks like the most “Netflix Adaptation” meme brought to life that I have ever seen.”, “I really don’t understand why you would take a franchise that everyone loves, then take out everything that everyone loves about it!” and “I own every main game and play through them every year. I have never not wanted to watch something more in my life.”

What do you think? Will you be watching this in July? Let us know in the comments below.
