‘Resident Evil’ has an origin film in the making that will focus on the first two games as the story. The film has cast nearly all of its main leads, including Jill Valentine, Claire Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy, and Albert Wesker.
Production company Constantin Film and writer Johannes Robert announced the cast for it’s ‘Resident Evil’ origin film set in 1998 “on a fateful night in Raccoon City”. The cast list is looking phenomenal! It will star Kaya Scodelario (Maze Runner) as Claire Redfield, Hannah John-Kamen (Ant-Man and the Wasp) as Jill Valentine, Robbie Amell (Upload) as Chris Redfield, Tom Hopper (The Umbrella Academy) as Albert Wesker, Avan Jogia (Zombieland: Double Tap) as Leon S. Kennedy, and Neal McDonough (Yellowstone) as William Birkin.
A ‘Resident Evil’ Reboot Film Is In The Works With Robbie Amell & Tom Hopper!
According to director Johannes Roberts in a statement,
“I really wanted to go back to the original first two games and recreate the terrifying visceral experience I had when I first played them whilst at the same time telling a grounded human story about a small dying American town that feels both relatable and relevant to today’s audiences.”
This film will be separate from an announced ‘Resident Evil’ Netflix series that is planned. Netflix also has an animated film coming titled, ‘Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness‘! We’re going to be getting our fair share of ‘Resident Evil’ coming up! I can’t wait to see this young, talented cast take on zombies and battle in the new film.
The new ‘Resident Evil’ film is set to release next year in 2021.
