Even though millions of people from both sides of the pond are receiving their vaccinations, Covid-19 cases are still quite high and also the reason why the UK government has ordered yet another lockdown.
So, does this mean that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will miss out on all of the fun and celebrations that are in store for 2021 as well? Perhaps. Here’s what you need to know.
British Royal Family News: Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s Travel Plans To The UK Sidelined By Covid-19
According to Page Six, some sources say that it’s a “little presumptuous” to think that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be able to attend Queen Elizabeth’s birthday celebrations in April, along with Prince Philip’s 100th birthday festivities and the unveiling of a Princess Diana statue at Kensington Palace this summer.
That’s because the Covid-19 virus is still raging on, making travel overseas nearly impossible for a lot of people.
“It’s a little presumptuous for any of us to be speculating about whether we can travel anywhere this summer,” one insider said.
Meanwhile, the Duchess of Sussex just lost at on her chance to become a British citizen. As many fans know, Meghan moved out of the U.K. last year, before she reached the three-year mark. She moved to the U.K. in November 2017, so she would have had to have lived there until at least fall 2020.
Harry and Meghan now live in Montecito, California, where they purchased a $14 million dollar home. According to sources, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have no plans to return to London full-time anytime soon.
One source close to the situation told People Magazine, “Despite everything that has been going on this year, they don’t regret their move to the U.S. They love that they are able to focus on projects and causes that are important to them.”
A source close to the couple also revealed: “It was always their dream to be financially independent and pay their own way. [2020] started out with a lot of excitement and anticipation. Harry was finally doing what he’d wanted to do for years, and to have Meghan and [20-month-old son] Archie with him was all he could have asked for.”
