Rebecca Balding, an actress best known for her work on the TV shows “Soap” and “Charmed,” passed away on Monday, according to her husband, actor-director James L. Conway, who spoke to Deadline. She was 73. In Park City, Utah, Balding lost her fight with ovarian cancer, according to Conway.
Balding, who was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1948, began her career on the stage there before moving to Hollywood. There, she landed a number of TV roles, beginning with a two-episode role as a Russian spy in “The Bionic Woman.” However, her role as attorney Carol David in 19 episodes of “Soap” from 1977 to 1981 is probably what makes her most well-known.
