Actress Mary Mara‘s drowning may have been the result of a serious head injury, according to her representative. Her rep, Craig Dorfman spoke to TMZ about the incident and said that investigators believe she may have died after slipping and hitting her head following her swim in the town of Cape Vincent.
They say that she had taken a dip in the river Sunday morning which was one of her favorite places to swim, and after she got out of the water, they believe she slipped and hit her head, causing her to fall into the water and drown. Their reasoning comes because when they recovered her body there were abrasions on her face.
Actress Mary Mara’s Drowning Death May Have Involved Blunt Trauma To Her Head
As of now, there’s no idea what she may have hit her head on, but believe that this is logical reasoning, and is what caused her to either become unconscious or debilitated.
Her rep has also said that the investigators have ruled out foul play, and it remains unclear what makes them so sure that the trauma to her head was accidental. Dorfman says he and Mary’s family believe drugs or alcohol did not play a role in her death.
Over the last two days, Mara’s family has received many messages of support and they’ve been deeply appreciative.
We hope they are able to figure out what exactly happened.
Rest in peace Mara. She was just 61 years old.
