While there’s no doubt that Carly Corinthos is definitely a straight shooter who would do just about anything for her family, her circumstances have certainly changed in recent weeks. In fact, General Hospital star Laura Wright, who plays Carly on the hit ABC soap, even admits that her engagement to her “best friend” Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) is definitely not a straight-forward ordeal. Here’s what she has to say.
While there’s no doubt that this is a “marriage of convenience,” even General Hospital fans can’t help but wonder what this will all lead up to, especially as the Coronthis family try to pick up the pieces after the supposed death of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

Speaking to TV Insider, Wright says that her character and Jason Morgan might finally act on this long suppressed feelings that they have for one another. She tells the site, “They go into it lightly.
What scares them both about this arrangement is the fear of their feelings that they’ve always had for each other. That has turned into friendship but was based on when they fell in love years ago, when Sarah Brown was playing Carly.”
And while Wright admits that this relationship is more necessary than convenient, the timing couldn’t be any worse, especially as Carly is still mourning the loss of her husband. That, and Jason himself has fallen for Britt Westboune (Kelly Thiebaud).
Wright says, “I loved it! You’re talking to the person who loves to play everything that people say can’t be played.”
Needless to say, fans will have to tune in to find out what will happen next!
