‘The Talk’ Spoilers: Sharon Osbourne and Racist Comments
Underwood said to Osbourne, “What would you say to people who may feel that while you’re standing by your friend, it appears you gave validation or safe haven to something that he has uttered that is racist, even if you don’t agree? Am I saying it right?”
Of course, Osbourne wasn’t going to back down and she said to Underwood, “Educate me, tell me when you have heard him say racist things? I very much feel like I’m about to put in the electric chair because I have a friend, who many people think is a racist, so that makes me a racist?”
The conversation continued to grow and we can see that Osbourne got incredibly mad about it, “How can I be racist about anybody or anything in my life? And don’t try and cry, because if anyone should be crying, it should be me.”
Of course, she had to make a public apology and told her fans, “I am truly sorry. I panicked, felt blindsided, got defensive and allowed my fear and horror of being accused of being racist take over.”
A former co-star of The Talk, Holly Robinson Peete tweeted about Osbourne’s racist comments and ways. She wrote, “I’m old enough to remember when Sharon complained that I was too ‘ghetto’ for the Talk…then I was gone.”
What will happen to Sharon now that she has made these comments? Will fans of the show try and get her kicked off? We will keep you posted on what happens next for The Talk.
