    Tana Mongeau’s silent call out

Anybody remember a couple of years ago when a freshly 18 year old Tana Mongeau made a video collab with Shane Dawson where she actually peed on him? No, that wasn’t a fever dream, that was a real thing, and it’s still up on Tana’s channel somewhere.

Although, arguably, I only made it through the first minute and a half before I had to click out of it, it was just way too uncomfortable for me. Can’t say I’m into watching the bodily functions of other people, and this was way back when the video first aired, so that was in… what… 2015?

    Tana Mongeau’s silent call out

I don’t know it was during the part of the decade in which both Shane and Tana were largely palatable, AKA, before accountability culture took hold and we realized just what on earth we were finding funny.

    Ahem.

We do have to wonder though, if Tana felt entirely comfortable with that situation. In the moment she seemed like she was pretty down with it, but then she kept saying “I can’t, I can’t.” in the video and while a normal person would’ve totally been okay and let her back out of it, Shane was, well, let’s just say overly encouraging and even at a point during the video he was oddly massaging her belly to ‘encourage’ things along?

It was so odd, and kind of gross, if we’re being honest. Back in the day this wasn’t really thought of as that big of a deal, it was Shane Dawson and Tana Mongeau, they were known for their shock value, but now some people on twitter have started pointing out this video and pointing out just how odd and uncomfortable it is.

…And Tana Mongeau is liking the tweets!

Tana has not directly said anything about it at all, and she probably won’t, because as we all remember Shane kind of saved her from being cancelled after the whole Tanacon incident where he painted her as the victim of some bad event management company.

Okay, while that could have totally happened now that we’re out of the Tanacon days and into more of a culture of accountability, a lot of people are going back and wondering just what on earth we were finding funny back then.

Of course Tana’s not going to say anything because she knows that if she did, she’d probably get cancelled all over again (even though she’s been cancelled 3-4 times now) but no creator in their right mind wants to be Shane Dawson level cancelled, a level in which no one wants you back.

So that’s why Tana is sitting back and silently liking the tweets, she’s smiling and nodding along with the people who were uncomfortable with this video, because maybe, on some level, she can agree that that whole production was awkward and unneeded, even if she still leaves it up on her channel for shock value and views. Will she ever make a video addressing it? I doubt it, but if she does, that would be interesting. Stay tuned!!!
