George Shapiro, one of the most famous talent managers ever has died at the age of 91. Shapiro represented stars like Jerry Seinfeld, Andy Kaufman and was a huge television producer as well. He passed away from natural causes on Thursday at his home in Beverly Hills. Currently, there are no other details about his death.

He began his own business and while he continued to manage talent like Kaufman, he turned most of his focus towards television like ‘Gomer Pyle’, and ‘The Steve Allen Show.’ He also did a lot of specials for variety hosts like Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore, and Carol Channing. However, his biggest contribution to television is likely ‘Seinfeld’.

Even after the enormous run of ‘Seinfeld’, Shapiro and Jerry remained close friends, and Shapiro even produced many of Jerry’s stand-up specials. Even into more recent years with Seinfeld’s ‘Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee’, Shapiro was just as involved as he had always been.

Shapiro had worked with some of the very best our world has seen and had a keen eye for production, knowing what would work and what wouldn’t. He’ll leave behind an incredible career and is survived by his lifelong partner Melody, children, and many grandchildren.

We wish the best for his family in these tough times and may he rest in peace. He was 91.
