El Corazón Nunca Se Equivoca spoilers reveal that the Gran Final aired this past week. As mentioned in the recap, though, it was clear that the episode wasn’t left intact. This left some fans upset, and did a disservice to the cast and crew. Here’s what you need to know.

El Corazón Nunca Se Equivoca spoilers: Bad editing

As with some previous novelas, such as La Piloto (The Pilot), Mi Marido Tiene Más Famila (My husband has more family), and Silvia Pinal: Frente a Ti (Silvia Pinal: Before you), there were cuts. Most of these were quite obvious and horribly done, making some of the scenes confusing and rushing through plot points, as with the drama surrounding Nora Ortega (Nuria Bages) and her forbidden love in El Corazón. All told, there were at least eight episodes’ worth of content taken out over the course of the season, with the finale feeling the most rushed.

Cutting short these series and making the cuts so obvious makes one think twice before getting into a new show. It’s also leaving some fans feeling cheated, not good if you’re a network looking to reach the top of the ratings.

El Corazón Nunca Se Equivoca spoilers: The programming

It’s not like they don’t have good content. Mi Marido is one of their more popular shows, and it’s touched a lot of fans with its mix of comedy and drama. This focus on a family situation sans Narcos is definitely a welcome change when most novelas deal with drug trafficking. Unfortunately, that show also had cuts. Last season in particular was rough at times with the transitions, and also had scenes cut off right in the middle of someone speaking.

There’s also the novela Amar a Muerte (Love to death). This series had a more supernatural spin, as it centered around transmigration of the soul. In other words, several of the characters died in the opening episode(s) and ended up coming back to life in a different mature body. One person actually came into contact with the soul who was now inhabiting his former body, which was interesting to see. It also had a unique opening sequence and brought back an old school soap feel while still staying fresh and modern. This was yet another fun departure from the typical subjects in a novela.

El Corazaon Nunca Se Equivoca spoilers: Random changes

There’s also the issue of how many novelas were just taken off. The remake of Rosario Tijeras was suddenly taken off the channel and landed on sister network UniMás. They also had a few other novelas suddenly get relegated to the daytime slot, such as Doña Flora y Sus Dos Maridos (Mrs. Flora and her two husbands) and Like: La Leyenda (Like: The Legend). A lot of times, these slots that are suddenly vacated end up getting filled with La Rosa de Guadalupe. Fans are left wondering what happened.

El Corazaon Nunca Se Equivoca spoilers: The impression

All these sudden changes and cut novelas leave the impression of having no vision. It feels at times like things are getting thrown at the wall to see what sticks, and that is not exactly building trust and loyalty in a time when people have so many other options for content. The network recently announced that they were going to be doing a series of shortened novela remakes, starting with La Usurpadora (The Usurper), which premiered tonight. It’s the story of a woman who switches places with a long-lost twin and ends up with a world of trouble. Only time will tell if this signals a change in how the novelas are handled. If they want to be competitive with Telemundo on a regular basis, change definitely needs to come.
